Producer Company Registration


In India the Ministry of Corporate Affairs the Producer Company was introduced to allow cooperatives to function as a corporate entity.

The Companies Act, 1956 “Producer Company” means a body corporate having objects or activities specified in section 581B and registered as Producer Company.

Objective of Producer Company:-

  • Production
  • Harvesting
  • Procurement
  • Grading
  • Pooling
  • Handling
  • Marketing
  • Selling
  • Import/export of primary produce.

Document for Registration

  • Pan card
  • Voter ID/ Passport / Driving Licence / Aadhaar Card
  • Latest Bank statement / Telephone Bill / Electricity or Gas bill
  • Passport size photograph
  • Notarized rental agreement
  • NOC form the Property owner
  • Sale deed or property deed

The member of the Company should carry these activities by themselves

  • Processing, including preserving, drying, brewing, distilling, venting, canning, and packaging of produce
  • Manufacture or sale of equipment/machinery
  • Providing education on the mutual assistance principles to its members and others
  • Offering technical services, consultancy services, training, R&D, and all other activities for the promotion of the interests of its members
  • Generation, transmission, and distribution of power, revitalisation of land and water resources, their use, conservation, and communications relatable to primary produce
  • Insurance of producers or their primary produce
  • Promoting techniques of mutuality and mutual assistance
  • Welfare measures or facilities for the benefit of members as may be decided by the board
  • Other activities that may facilitate the principles of mutuality and mutual aid amongst the members in any different manner
  • Financing of procurement, processing, marketing, or other activities specified in clauses (a-j) which include extending of credit facilities or any other financial services to its members.
